From Age 4 to 7: ART CLASS IN ITALIAN
Children will learn about Art while learning the Italian language. On Going Class on Fridays from 2:15 pm to 3:00 pm TERMS of 15 classes $ 225. Drawing is the foundation of the visual arts, and while it is true that some people have the gift to draw effortlessly, drawing, like writing, is a skill that can be acquired. In this class designed for young children, students will gain familiarity with art materials through exploration and experimentation. By focusing on the artistic process, and not on the final product, children will improve their skills and become more confident in their ability to express their ideas creatively. This class is on going and meets once per week (following the Girotondo Italian Academy Calendar). Siblings of the students that are currently enrolled in the morning Preschool or Kindergarten program receive priority.
From Age 4 to 7: PUPPET THEATRE AND DRAMATIC ARTS IN ITALIAN
On Going Classes on Thursdays from 2:15 pm to 3 pm, TERMS of 15 Classes $ 225. Children love to play with puppets and to imagine fanciful stories. Not only is this kind of symbolic representation important in the development of human creativity and imagination, it also forms the foundation for future abstract thinking. This puppet theatre and drama class will help young children build a symbolic/mental representation of their environment and their world, progressing from storybook fables, to Puppet Theatre and then Dramatic Arts. The students will bring the characters they read about in storybooks to life through puppets, and then by becoming the actor or actress of their own story. This class is on going and meets once per week (following the Girotondo Italian Academy Calendar). From Age 4 to 7: COOKING & SCIENCE IN ITALIAN
On Going Classes on Tuesdays from 2:15 pm to 3 pm, TERMS of 15 Classes $ 225. Children love to play with food and while playing and cooking they learn math science and art. The class gives children the chance to practice listening, following directions, taking turns, strengthening their fine motor skills while learning Italian. This class is on going and meets twice per week (following the Girotondo Italian Academy Calendar).
